The Room 04:49
Up the stairs and through his door the empty bottles on the floor these dusty windows, these picture frames the room of the one she desires Sunset waits through empty hours to pour through names we with were ours this cracked guitar, this broken string the room of the one she desires We slowly drink from mason jars beside the sound of passing cars but the sun goes down without a sound in the room of the one she desires Three different bibles on the shelf to add to life, love, faith and health while picking locks and swing keys to the room of the one she desires I forget the ways she moved me the sugary taste, the way she chased after him while clinging to me The softest singing from her lips the brushing of her, oh her fingertips on my back and through my hair but I'm not there, no I'm not there no I'm not there, no I'm not there...
2.
Well he sets cigarette, cigarette on the window sill even still, the ash all collects and stains there he does it every morning While the pets pirouette, pirouette 'round the table legs table legs, eyeing them eggs and oranges praying he'd take pity 'Cause babe, he cursed the afternoon far away from you, far away from you oh... So regrets are regrets, that's what she tells him breath after breath, just a reminder that we should've seen it coming 'Cause babe, he cursed the afternoon far away from you, far away from you And babe, he cursed the afternoon far away from you, far away from you oh... Don't go back to him (if you go) don't go back to him (if you go) don't go back to him (if you go) don't go back to him

Hold Me Down 04:49
If you look inside my mind you'll see the eyes of jezebels and succubi and with taloned hands, they dig and bury my heart deep within the mountainside So if you write a book sometime about my life or something that resembles mine please address the mistakes I made so those next in line can turn around and learn from mine Just hold me down cause I'll do, I'll do it again is it too late, too late, too late to save someone like me So blessed are the blind sightless from birth 'though, those other senses compromise and death is never satisfied and through the test of time, neither are these eyes of mine Just hold me down 'cause I'll do, I'll do it again is it too late, too late, too late is it too late, too late, too late is it too late, too late, too late to save someone like me I'd sit down if there was room to be found at your side, at your feet, in your bed, in your head but the waiting room for love was always elbow to elbow, and I want to sit down but there's no room to be found

Red Threads 05:08
And as I walk to your room with your memories I am consumed by the spiders and cobwebs you grew as decoration There lies your bed where you once laid your head as I played, just for you my favorite selections from CD collections I knew you'd sleep well to But as the sun rises, there're no more surprises the blinds are pulled shut so no light can pour through the big eastern windows and pool in your eyelids warming those sleepy hands that are keeping the blood in your veins, the red threads that bind us there to remind us that we can be whole again I came here a mourner, curled up in the corner beside the now empty birdcage and tracing the elegant curves the wire frame I wish I could recall the name of a creature with you for its keeper and hold it to see if its lovesong's as wild as mine You'd think somewhere on these walls would be inscribed the reasons that she's gone but they're not they're not Now back in that hallway I picture you softly closing the door behind me once more and you blink unexpected first and then second flashes of those emerald eyes never mind that my heart strings were pulled from those irises, you're still gone so slowly I walk from your room with your memories and I am consumed Slowly I walk from your room with your memories and I am consumed
5.
Runaway 04:35
What I'd say to the runaways I'm sure they've heard before if you'd have tasted what they ate you'd lick it off the floor and beg for more What I'd say to the carnivores stuck between the teeth you cannot cure this bellyache we'll bury you beneath this very floor where you've never ever been alone before When I think of all the things I coulda' done when I think of all the races I'd have won when I think there's no escaping from the sinking ship I'm on, I think of you there's always you What I'd say to the dead and gone is I'm just wasting space tying anchors around my knees just want to see your face and touch your face 'Cause when I think of all the things I coulda' done when I think of all the tales I coulda' spun when I think there's no returning from this road that I set on, I think of you there's always you There's always you (When I think of all the things I coulda' done) There's always You (When I think of all the races I'd have won) There's always you (When I think there's no returning from) There's always you (When I think there's no escaping from) You carry me, carry me home Home...

Widow's Walk 05:30
Elizabeth of the lighthouse believes that she commands the sea day and night, how she wanders there on her widow's walk, prayerfully... Elizabeth, she is old and grey she's watched the waves since seventeen with hair as white as her nightgown it billows in the sea breeze... And she prays See my light, see my sign Love, return again for me, Bring your ship up from the deep place, See my light, see my sign Love return again for me Bring your ship up from the deep, Love return for me Fell asleep at the lighthouse in a bed of leaves made for me and laid alone, I'll dream forever of loves who've been left behind And we pray See my light, see my sign, Love, return again for me Bring your ship up from the deep place See my light, see my sign Love return again for me Bring your ship up from the deep See my light See my light See my light Love return for me Love return for me Love return for me

Saboteur 02:04
Saboteur, are you working alone to break my heart to break my heart? And right or wrong you've been throwing your shoes into the gears out of your fears that I won't see us through to the end I promised you? Saboteur, can't you see that I have loved you from the start? That you've thrown all of the switches in my heart? And that I have found a way to fix the mess you made, oh, my saboteur...
9.
Already December, oh dear no time for lovin', no friends, no money and it's hard to remember, these days what I wake for what dreams have severed A somehow cold sun water that cannot wash away what I've done, son, oh I've got too much left to pay It was sweet, it was tender, oh In a postcard marked up "return to sender" and is it any wonder, really? Would you pay my debts when I'm digging my own grave? A somehow cold sun water that cannot wash away what I've done, son, oh I've got too much left to pay
10.
Turpentine 06:11
Once awake you're slow to roll over until I shake you and pull back the covers let's be late, late you say or skip altogether the plans we made over the summer Oh Designer, Designer, design me a way Designer, Designer, design me a way to stay in her head Once awake I have to start over strip the paint and bathe in the turpentine the canvas calls me, "so you say you're a saint?" that's hard to see, it's all been erased So what do I do with all this negative space? What do I do with you? When you designed her, designed her designed her this way Designed her, designed her, designed her this way to stay in my head to stay in my heart to stay in my head Once awake, you're slow to roll over
